Monday 1/2/2016 - Albury to Doolan's Bend

2197km - 2139km

We are off again. A 9am start with lots of well wishes to send us off. It is great to be supported by family and friends. Special thanks to Kevin Flanagan for the kind words and Bill Robinson coming to send us off and to give us some words of wisdom, as he has done this trip solo.

After a night of rain we are greeted with a very pleasant day. Clouds in the morning, followed by a warm sunny afternoon, a perfect paddling day.  The day has been uneventful with the main focus being to get into a rhythm. Hopefully a change to the boat set up tonight will make it a bit more comfortable tomorrow.

Arrived at Doolan's bend at 4pm, enough for day 1. Set up camp, had a swim and got ready for dinner. To our surprise Howard and Johno arrive to cook us dinner. A fantastic meal of steak, salad and potato, followed by Apple pie and custard. It was so good that Sarg delayed starting his diet until tomorrow.

It is now 8:30 and we are heading for bed listening to the birds. Hope the horses who stole my breakfast banana stay away for the rest of the night.
