Monday 8/2/2016 - Picnic Point to Bama State Forest

1790km - 1744km

It is nice to sleep in until 7am. We pack up before Sarg and Tony BBQ the eggs and bacon we won at the club last night.

Another great part of the river today as we paddle down through the narrows to the Barmah lake and Barmah. We all enjoyed the birds which are in abundance.  The banks here are low and vertical so you can see over them as you paddle. In many places the land falls away from the bank. It is strange how fast the dense forest turns into dry open forest and the banks change after leaving
Barmah lake.

The paddle down to Barmah goes quickly and we soon line up for a hamburger for lunch from the local store. A very hot afternoon of paddling so we take it slowly and find a shady camp spot to spend the rest of the afternoon.

EJ tries his hand with Tinky's rod as Tinky is having problems using it. All without success. A nice breeze brings a pleasant evening as we sit around and chat about the days to come.

A stop at Barmah

Another camp by the river
